Ravi Rodriguez

Ravi Borgales was born in Buenos Aires in 2000 to an Indian father and an Argentine mother, and spent his childhood trying to reconcile a household that played Bollywood soundtracks and tango records on alternating nights. He found the overlap in rhythm. By seventeen he was producing electronic tracks in his bedroom that fused cumbia structures with South Asian percussion. He eventually put his name on the work. The Buenos Aires club scene noticed. So did a handful of labels in Berlin and Mumbai. He is still deciding what to do about that.
